MAPS’ vision is to transform the Medical Affairs profession globally to increase its value to patients, healthcare professionals, and other decision makers. We’ve made great progress since our formation in 2016, with over 4,000 members from 200+ companies globally joining together to promote excellence across all Medical Affairs functions and experience levels.

We are now pleased to launch a new initiative to provide even greater connectivity for the Medical Affairs Community, with the formation of MAPS Chapters. The Chapters are an extension of the MAPS Community, with no additional membership fee, aimed at better understanding the needs of members (e.g. professional development and educational needs), and providing more opportunities for members to actively participate and engage with one another in mentorship, learning and development, networking, and other activities.

• The Chapter Lead is: A recognized Industry leader with significant years of direct Medical Affairs leadership experience at life sciences companies, with responsibilities for the country/region, and currently physically based in the country of the Chapter assignment.
• A Chapter Lead may also select a Co-Lead (either from industry or a solution provider) to support planning and execution of activities.
• Estimated time commitment for Chapter Lead participation: between 2-3 hours per month, including preparation time, participation in Chapter conference calls, participation in quarterly Region Leadership Committee calls with other Chapter Leads, and participation in local activities (face-to-face or virtual)

Responsibilities: Ensure alignment, integration, and implementation of the MAPS strategic plan and Membership Committee remit within the country/region of the Chapter, including, but not limited to:

• Organize local networking meet-ups to attract new members and engage existing members
• Convene Chapter educational sessions/symposia as appropriate
• Participate in quarterly Region Leadership Committee calls with other MAPS Chapter Leads
• Engage with members on the Community portal (e.g. in local language, about local/regional issues, etc.)
• “Localize” existing Webinars or develop new Webinars that discuss local/regional issues in more detail than MAPS Global Webinars, if needed
• Identify existing content that should be translated into local language, if applicable

All activities will be supported by the MAPS home office / Operations team.
